Friends Are Like Flowers That Never Fade

We all have friends that have been by our side through thick and thin...so why not give them a little card letting them know how special they are.

This tri-shutter card is easy to make, stands out on it's own.

Materials I used to make this card:

Cricut, George and Basic Shapes cartridge
Sizzix Texture Boutique - small dots embossing folder
Cuttlebug small dots embossing folder
Crafter's Companion score board
Beige/brown cardstock
Navy cardstock
Colorbok Pattern Pack - Sweet Summer
American Crafts Metalic Marker - Silver
5 yellow mini brads
4 pearls
Glue runner

Lets get started...

You will need to cut your card base (beige-brown or whatever colors you chose) 6  1/2 X 12 inches.

Using my Crafter's Companion Box score board, scored it at 2", 4", flipped and scored at 2" & 4".

Next cut 2" from top from 2" to 10" , then cut 2" from bottom, 2" to 10" as show below.
This is how your card base should look like, the measurements and the folds.

Now we embellish -

Chose your two coordinating papers. I chose two from the Colorbok - Sweet Summer paper pad.

From blue paper you will need:
Two pieces cut at 1 3/4 X 6 1/4 inch
One piece cut at 2 inches X 3 5/8 inches
Four pieces cut at 1 6/8 X 1 6/8 inches

From the green paper you will need:
Two pieces cut at 2 x 1 and 6/8 inch
Two pieces cut at 3 and 5/8 inches
Cut three 1 and 1/2 inch flowers (George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge)
Cut five 1 and 1/4 inch flowers (George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge)

From the navy cardstock you will need:
cut two 3 inch ovals (George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge). Keep your cut out flower scrap and use as embellishment in center of card!
cut two flowers 1 and 1/4 inch
cut four 1 and 2/8 inch X 1 inch

Layer & emboss flowers, attach small button brads.

Glue all your paper pieces to your card, using American Crafts Metalic Marker in Silver write your sentiments on navy cardstock...

Emboss all navy cardstock and glue to your card.

Add pearls to top and bottom center panels (if you wish) on navy oval cardstock...position and glue flowers...

...and there you have it!

Hope you enjoyed your visit, and hope you have a very scrap-happy day ;)
Hugs,
Nanny Donna
